Revenue for Sheriff’s budget declined due to fewer inmates

As the Laclede County Commission considers finalizing the 2020 Budget for the County, one area that has seen a significant loss of revenue is the funds coming into to general revenue from the inmate population. Sheriff David Millsap tells us inmate security fund saw a reduction of revenue due to fewer inmates at the jail.

Millsap said he estimates the revenue in 2020 to be about $332-thousand; in 2018 he budgeted about $390-thousand in revenue. The Laclede County Commission is expected to adopt the 2020 Budget during a meeting on January 21st.
