Redistricting Compromise Plan Unlikely
Missouri Senate Republican Leader Caleb Rowden says negotiations with the House on a Congressional redistricting plan are “very unlikely”. Lawmakers have been butting heads this session on how many Republican-leaning and Democratic-leaning seats there should be among the eight districts.
House Democratic Leader Crystal Quade, of southwest Missouri’s Springfield, says she does not think lawmakers will pass a redistricting proposal by the end of this legislative session. If the Legislature fails to pass a plan by May 13, the courts could end up making the decisions.
