A former Gainesville Georgia man is facing charges in Camden County after a traffic stop led to the discovery of illegal substances. According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was observing traffic on Highway 5 on April 4th and noticed a vehicle that didn’t have a front plate and at first appeared to not have a plate on the back. After getting closer to the car the deputy reported that he saw a temporary Missouri registration but the weather caused the registration to not be visible. The driver, identified as 29 year old Danny Lamar Hampton, was instructed to get out of the vehicle, and gave the officer consent to search. During the search the deputy reported that he located a box that contained clear plastic bags, a digital weight scale and a small amount of a crystal substance that tested positive as methamphetamine. Hampton is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Hampton pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for another bond hearing on April 13th.
