Real Estate Tax Freeze

Legislation that was passed last year implements a freeze on the amount of Real Property Tax paid by Missourians age 62 and up. In Laclede County, Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst explains there will be an application process…

Basically, whatever the property is assessed will be frozen at the 2023 level and any assessment above that amount will be credited back to the property owner. The real property owner must live at the property to qualify, and they must be 62 or older, or eligible for Social Security. The Laclede County Commission will meet on Tuesday morning at 8:30, and the application process and timeline for implementation of SB 190, is on the agenda.
