Raymondville Man Charged With Two Counts of Sodomy

A man from Raymondville is in the Texas County Jail facing child sexual abuse charges. 76-year-old, James Crider, has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Sodomy. Those charges stem from an investigation that began on March 30th, when Texas County deputies received a report that two juveniles under the age of 8 had been abused. Deputies spoke with family members, and conducted a forensic interview at the child advocacy center. During a subsequent investigation it was determined that Crider had sexual contact with the children, and he blamed the contact on the actions of the children. Crider is being held on a half-million dollar bond.
