PULASKI COUNTY SERIOUS

A crash occurred last night in Pulaski County leaving a juvenile seriously injured. 58-year-old Springfield resident Vasile Lup was heading Westbound on I-44 with a 15-year-old juvenile. At the 167.2 mile marker, the right rear tire came off of the vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck the cable median barrier, ejecting the juvenile. Both occupants were transported to Phelps Health via ambulance. Lup sustained minor injuries while the juvenile was seriously injured. There was extensive damage to the vehicle, and the juvenile was not wearing a seatbelt.
