Pulaski County Man Facing Arson Charges

A man from Pulaski County has been accused of arson following a fire that occurred at a residence in Dixon.
According to officials fire investigators responded to an incident in the 14000 block of Happy Drive in Dixon on September 5th. After an investigation, it was determined that the fire had originated in one of the bedrooms. Investigators found no plausible explanation for the fire other than deliberate ignition using an open flame on combustible materials.
During the time of the fire, there were four individuals inside the house who were sleeping. As they evacuated the premises, they reported witnessing 34-year-old Alexander Aguayo, standing outside the residence, before he departed from the scene.
After conducting a post-Miranda interview, Aguayo allegedly confessed to intentionally setting fire to his own belongings within the room. Consequently, prosecutors have charged Aguayo with first-degree arson.

An arraignment hearing took place on September 7, with a bond review hearing scheduled for Monday his preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 26.
