Pulaski County First-Day August Primary Candidate Filings

It was a busy day in the Pulaski County Clerk’s office on Tuesday, as the filing period opened up for the August primary.
Eight candidates, all Republicans, filed for various offices that will be up for election this year.
Incumbent Eastern District Commissioner of the County Court, Charles Bassett, filed for re-election. Western District incumbent commissioner, Andy C. Helms, filed his candidacy as well. Three candidates filed on the first day for Pulaski County Sheriff. They are Bryan Gibbs, Stacy Ball, and Rex Larson. Current Sheriff Jimmy Bench has said he doesn’t intend to seek re-election. Daniel Whittle filed for re-election as County Assessor, Rebecca (Becky) Allen filed for Public Administrator, and Roger D. Graves filed for re-election as County Coroner. Four Republicans filed for Committeeman in the county. Daniel Whittle filed for Committeeman of Tavern Township, David M. Lowe for Committeeman for Union Township, Tim Berrier for Committeeman of Cullen Township, and David Dicke for Committeeman of Liberty Township.
No Democrat filed for the Pulaski County office on Tuesday. The August Primary filing period will run up to 5 p-m March 26th.
