Tuesday was the first-day candidate had to file for city offices and school boards for the April elections. Two candidates will be elected in the spring to the Waynesville Board of Education. Those individuals who filed on Tuesday include Chase Foster, Paul D. Shultz the Second, and Randall R. Nelson. Paul D. Shultz the Second and Jann Dye are the two incumbents whose terms will expire in April. Three candidates filed Tuesday for the Dixon Board of Education. They were Tammy Milligan, Julie Alexander, and Justin Thompson. Troy Porter and Craig Rivera are the two incumbents whose terms are expiring in April. No one filed Tuesday for the Crocker Board of Education. The two incumbents whose terms are expiring next year are Kim Henson and Barb Walters.

For city offices in Waynesville,
Ward I: Councilman Bill Farnham has filed for the seat he currently holds. (2-year term)

Ward II: Councilman Clarence Liberty has filed for the seat he currently holds. (2-year term)

Ward III: Councilman Sean A. Wilson has filed for the seat he currently holds. (2-year term).

Ward 4: Amanda Koren has filed for the Ward IV seat. (2-year term)

People wanting to file for city office or board of education have through January 19th of 2021 to file paperwork to become candidates. Municipal candidates should file with their community’s city clerk. School board candidates should file in the school district’s superintendent’s office.
