Pulaski County Commissioners to consider 3 per cent marijuana sales tax

The Pulaski County Commission will meet today in a regular session in the county courthouse in Waynesville. Among other things, the commissioners will discuss and consider passing a resolution imposing a 3 percent sales tax on the retail sale of marijuana in the county. If passed by commissioners, the proposal will go before voters for approval in the forthcoming April elections. Revenue generated by the marijuana sales tax proposal would go to law enforcement, drug treatment and prevention, maintenance of county roads, and other purposes. The commission also will consider an ordinance to create an Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee.
