The Pulaski County Ambulance District posted a press release this morning that addressed “certain financial trends and operational practices of the district.” The District’s Board of Directors have hired an independent consultant to come in to do an in-depth evaluation. The Board also asked Mikel Hartness to step down as Administrator and instead concentrate on rendering essential advanced life support care to citizens of the district. Hartness will now function as a field paramedic.
Mike Mc Cart has agreed to step in to lead day-to-day operations of the District with the guidance of the consulting team.

Mc Cart says this will not change the quality of service Pulaski County residents have come to expect of the Ambulance District.

The Ambulance Board is doing a nationwide search for an experienced and proven Chief Executive Officer for the Pulaski County Ambulance District.
