PROJECT BLUE LIGHT
James Bava, Dennis Engelhard, Dewayne Graham Jr., and Michael Newton; to some they might be random names on a list, but to the Missouri State Highway Patrol they were husbands, sons, brothers, and friends. They will be honored by their brethren this month during Project Blue Light. The Highway Patrol is joining with the Concerns of Police Survivors organization to pay tribute to the 31 troopers who have paid the ultimate price to help ensure public safety. All troops and division offices will display blue lights during the 2019 holiday season. Sergeant Mike Mitchell, Public Information Officer for Troop I, says it’s a way to keep their memory alive………..
Sergeant Mitchell says they try to instill good officer safety practices in the patrol………
There is also an ornament that you can purchase on the Officer Down Memorial website………
Sergeant Mitchell encourages the public to show their support for fallen officers by displaying blue lights this holiday season.
