Prevent water pipes from freezing

The National Weather Service is reporting a light wintry mix of precipitation is possible this afternoon before changing to light snow. As the wind picks up, 30 mile per hour wind gusts tonight will cause wind chill values to drop below zero. With temperatures falling into the single digits for the next couple of nights, residents should take steps to keep water lines from freezing. Lebanon Public Works Director Richard Shockley advises us to leave a trickle of water flowing at the faucet.

In addition, if you have plumbing on an exterior wall be sure to leave the cabinet doors open to allow heat to get to the water pipes, make sure that the vents leading under the home are closed, and close your garage door.
