Prefiling begins for Missouri Legislative Session

As the Missouri General Assembly prepares for the 2024 legislative session, House members have started prefiling bills. As of this morning(mon) 352 bills have been prefiled by lawmakers addressing multiple issues with topics ranging from policy changes to renaming a highway. This year a new provision is in place that will restrict members from submitting more than 20 bills without obtaining prior approval from the speaker of the house. State Representitive Jeff Knight tells Regional Radio News this should eliminate duplication of bills….

Knight said out of all the bills that were presented during the last session only 26 pieces of legislation passed. The first day of the upcoming legislative session is scheduled for January 3rd.
