Polar Bear Strut Saturday in Rolla
(Rolla)–Over 150 men and women from around the area will don costumes and swimwear and take “polar” dips into the quarry at Fugitive Beach in Rolla and others will take to the streets to run the 5-kilometer Polar Bear Strut on Saturday. These unbearable events will be hosted by the Rolla Police Department and Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to benefit their charity of choice, Missouri Special Olympics. Registration for the Strut will begin tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock with the Strut beginning at 9 o’clock. Registration for the Plunge will open at 9:30 Saturday morning, the traditional Parade of Costumes will proceed at noon, with the plunge immediately following.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the more than 16-thousand Special Olympics athletes in Missouri.
