Missouri weather can be unpredictable, but those who are tasked with keeping the public safe are planning to respond, as a winter storm warning has been issued for midnight tonight into Thursday. In a planning meeting at the Laclede County Office of Emergency Management, multiple agencies at the state, county and city level, along with nonprofits gathered to evaluate assets needed in a worst-case scenario. Emergency Management Director Randy Rowe spoke with those in attendance in person and on Webex.

A verbal inventory of generators, chainsaws, and shelter resources was taken. Rowe summed up the meeting

All residents who are dependent on medical equipment and oxygen are encouraged to make contact with their supplier today to ensure they have adequate supplies in case travel becomes hazardous, or if there is a power outage.
