PHELPS COUNTY MOTORCYCLE SERIOUS

A Phelps County motorcycle operator is in serious condition following a Sunday evening one-vehicle accident on Water Street North of Highway T in Newburg.
The highway patrol reports that 24-year-old Shawn M. Leach of Rolla was injured when his 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle struck a pothole, traveled off the roadway, and caught on fire.
Leach was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
