No foul play is suspected in the drowning death of a 37-year-old Phelps County man who was reported missing on Sunday. Aaron S. Bullock was recovered Monday in Mill Creek, near Yelton Spring, near County Road 7630, and Forest Service Road 1581 just outside of Newburg in Phelps County. Witnesses at the scene told authorities that Bullock was acting erratically before he jumped into the creek. Bullock’s body was located by a member of the Missouri Highway Patrol, about a half-mile from where he was last seen. Phelps County Coroner Ernie Coverdell says the preliminary determination of death was from a drug overdose. The Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, along with first responders from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Doolittle Fire Department, the Rolla Rural Fire Department, the Edgar Springs Fire Department, and the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, were all involved in the search, the investigation is continuing.
