Perseid Meteor Shower

If you looked up in the night sky last night, you might have been able to see the Perseid Meteor Shower. This shower happens once a year, but if you missed it, don’t fret, you have another chance to see it tonight. Gary Boyle, an astronomy educator, explains more about this astronomical event.

In a typical year, up to 90 meteors can be seen per hour coming from the constellation Perseus. With the warm summer weather, Boyle says that there’s no wrong time to try to watch the meteor shower tonight.

And the meteor shower isn’t the only thing you’ll be able to see.

For hundreds of years, events like these have lit up the night sky, and Boyle says that seeing an event like this will be something you’ll never forget.
