Construction of a pedestrian bridge over I-44 in Rolla is scheduled to begin Tuesday night. The work that was delayed due to weather, will close one lane of traffic in each direction near the 185 mile marker in Rolla. Both lanes of I-44 and the overpass are expected to re-open to traffic at 7 a.m. on Thursday. Signs are in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closures. Travelers are asked to plan extra travel time, slow down and watch for crews in work zones. The City of Rolla will have signs in place to detour motorists around the Route E overpass closure. The pedestrian bridge is being constructed due to a partnership between the City of Rolla, Missouri S&T and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
