Peak Alert issued by Missouri Public Utilities Alliance
Due to the heat wave currently sweeping the state, the Missouri Public Utilities Alliance has issued a peak alert through Thursday. The alert is for 2 PM to 6 PM each day, when temperatures are at their hottest. When issuing an alert, the MPUA asks hometown utilities to alert their customers to reduce electric consumption. Doing so keeps the supply and demand situation stable, and also helps the community by keeping electric prices in check for their locally-owned utility. MPUA consists of 120 members in Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Illinois. That includes Waynesville, St. Robert, and Richland.
