Laclede Electric Cooperative has issued a Peak Alert for today. Consumers are asked to conserve electricity from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The conservation appeal was triggered by an unseasonably hot weather pattern, unplanned outages at three Associated generating units, and projected declining wind power for today. Byron Dudley, Manager of Communication & Member Service at Laclede Electric Cooperative explains what is going on.

Some ways you can conserve energy include turning off unnecessary lights, not using large appliances, and more.

Laclede Electric members are asked to conserve electricity on Thursday, June 16, and Friday, June 17, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. To report an outage or for more information, call 417-532-3164.
