Pay Raise For State Workers In Effect Today

State workers in Missouri are getting a pay raise this week. Governor Mike Parson has signed a budget bill into law that will give state employees an 8-point-7 percent raise, and an extra 2 dollars per hour bump in pay for group care employees who work nights and weekends. Republican House Speaker Dean Plocher supports the bill:
The raises take effect Wednesday. There are currently about 7-thousand job openings within Missouri’s government.
