The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating an early Friday morning officer-involved shooting involving a Miller County deputy.

The Patrol reported on Twitter that two deputies from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic assault at a home near St. Anthony about 5 miles Northeast of Iberia in Miller County.

According to reports the unidentified man obtained a rifle from the home and approached deputies with the gun.

The deputy fired his gun and struck the man.

The man was airlifted to the hospital.

The incident is being turned over to Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Winfrey for further review.

The investigation is continuing.
