Pathway to the Badge

The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office has started a program that will put individuals on the path to a career in law enforcement. Sheriff David Millsap tells us that Pathway to the Badge is something new to the Sheriff’s Office…

Attrition has had an impact on Law Enforcement staff numbers, and Millsap said they are competing with the private sector for employees. He said they are also finding that a large percentage of employable people are already working. While the pay may not be great, many who choose to become part of the law enforcement community do so, because they have a desire to be of service to the community.
