Parson May Use Line Item Veto On Budget

Line item vetoes are on the horizon in the Missouri Legislature’s state budget proposal. Governor Mike Parson says he’s still thumbing through the 49-billion-dollar plan but he’s getting his veto pen ready…

The proposal would designate 2.8-billion-dollars to widen I-70 to at least three lanes in both directions from the St. Louis to Kansas City areas. It would also dole out 3.6-billion in state aid to schools as well as boost pay for workers caring for the developmentally disabled.
