Both of The Osage Beach Fire Protection District’s ballot items failed to get enough votes to pass last night. These items included a tax levy to provide funds for the partial or complete support of an EMT paramedic first responder program, and building a new fire station, and improving the existing stations with new equipment. Fire Cheif Berardi says he’s disappointed in the election results, but it gives them an opportunity to assess what went wrong strategically.

Although it’s too soon to make a plan on what to do next, Cheif Berardi says that citizens can expect the same level of service as provided before the election.

57 percent of voters said no to the new fire station, and 63 percent of voters said no to the tax levy.
