(Waynesville)–Samaritan’s Purse, a well-known Christian charity started by Billy Graham’s son, Franklin Graham, is starting its annual Operation Christmas Child campaign this month. The goal is to collect more than 10-and-a-half million shoeboxes of gifts to be given to children in underdeveloped countries overseas. Once again, a number of Pulaski County Churches and citizens are participating in the drive. Decorated shoeboxes can be picked up at Westside Baptist Church in Waynesville to be filled and returned by the first half of November. Or, people who want to build a box can go online. Here’s Kasey Netzley to explain.

Last year, 1700 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes were filled by contributors in Pulaski County.
