Opening Day at Bennett Spring State Park

It is opening day of catch and keep trout fishing at Missouri State Parks and anglers showed up in large numbers for opening ceremonies at Bennett Spring.

Longtime visitor and now resident Danny Goldsmith sounded the opening of the day.

Several local and state dignitaries were on hand for opening day, including Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher….

Plocher said the money being invested in the park is well worth it…

As of 9 this morning, 1357 adult and 97 youth trout tags have been sold at Bennett Spring State Park.
