One man is in custody at the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. On September 25, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Officers with the Richland Police Department were dispatched to the 700 Block of East Jefferson Avenue for a report of a possible disturbance. while the sheriffs were en route to the scene, they were advised of a secondary report of a possible motor vehicle accident, which had occurred within the same region of the initial disturbance call. Callers said the driver of a vehicle attempted to strike 2 subjects standing in the yard of an East Jefferson property. The driver then exited the vehicle and entered the residence located on the property, where it was reported that weapons were present. The incidents were in close proximity to the Richland Public School, and the school was placed on lockdown for student and staff safety, however, there were no students or staff involved. Thanks to the assistance of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the subject was taken into custody, without incident, and transported to the Pulaski County Justice Center, where they are being held pending charges.
