(Waynesville)–Pulaski County can enjoy its 40th annual Old Settlers’ Days this weekend in Waynesville City Park. One of the many exciting events will be several Civil War re-enactment battles and skirmishes. Denise Seevers of the Pulaski County Museum and Historical Society tells us more.

Saturday’s schedule of events has Civil War and Kickapoo Trace Muzzleloader Camps opening to the public at 8:30 in the morning. The opening ceremony to Old Settlers’ Days will be taking place at 10 o’clock. The Back Porch Players will be performing at Pavilion 3 from 10:30 a-m to 4 p-m. The Armed Services Y-M-C-A Duck Race will begin at 11 o’clock in Roubidoux Creek. A Wire Road skirmish re-enactment takes place at 11 o’clock. A Civil War Battle Re-enactment is scheduled for 2 o clock in the afternoon. There will be a Period Dance in the evening at 7 o’clock with music by the Back Porch Players. The night fire and artillery show will begin around 8:45. In addition, there will be food and craft vendors both days of Old Settlers’ Days. Admission will be free with plenty of free parking available. Free copies of the Old Stagecoach Stop Foundation’s 38th annual Old Settlers’ Gazette publication will be available. Neither the Old Stagecoach Stop nor the Pulaski County Museum on the Waynesville Square will be open this year due to Covid-19.
