(Waynesville)–Plans are running smoothly to hold Old Settler’s Days this year in the Waynesville City Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th. This will be the 40th anniversary of the Old Settler’s Days event with the full complement of annual events. Old Settlers Days organizer, Denise Seever, of the Pulaski County Museum and Historical Society, says there will be great food vendors and crafters, the Armed Services Y-M-C-A Duck Race, the Kickapoo Trace Muzzleloaders encampment, four Civil War battles and skirmishes, and 150 to 200 re-enactors, including General Ulysses Grant, President Abraham Lincoln, and Colonel Franz Sigel, who was commander at Fort Waynesville overlooking the famous Wire Road during the Civil War.

There will be no admission charge to attend Old Settlers Days and plenty of free parking.
