Norton Pleads Guilty, Gets Life
One of the two men accused of causing the death of Cassidy Rainwater in Dallas County, Timothy Norton, appeared in court on Tuesday and entered a guilty plea to committing first-degree murder in Rainwater’s death in July of 2021. As a result, the judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Norton pleaded guilty almost two months after the other defendant in the case, James Phelps, entered an Alford Plea and was similarly sentenced to life in prison without the chance of probation or parole.
In mid-September 2021. FBI investigators contacted Dallas County detectives after receiving photos from an anonymous source that depicted Rainwater confined in a cage. Upon investigation, detectives confirmed Rainwater’s identity from partially nude images. Additionally, officials discovered seven photos of Rainwater on Phelps’ phone.
Her remains were found on Phelps’ property near Windyville in rural Dallas County.
