State Representative Kathy Swan of southeast Missouri’s Cape Girardeau says she’s frustrated with “the doomsday scenario” being painted by others. She made the comment before the House passed a plan this week with 33 million dollars in emergency federal funding to attack the coronavirus. During a press conference at the state Capitol, Governor Parson says the respiratory illness is like viruses we’ve dealt with before – it will take time to respond to and people need to follow health guidelines.

State Representative Greg Razer, a Kansas City Democrat, says Swan’s comment is irresponsible and is the same rhetoric President Trump used three weeks ago when calling the virus a hoax.
