As the Delta virus variant continues to rapidly spread across the state, access to antibody infusion therapy is becoming more readily available to high risk patients. If administered within 10 days of the onset of COVID-19 symptoms, Melissa Wehner with Jordan Valley Community Health says Regenaron can reduce the need for hospitalization and reduce the risk of death.

In many cases, patients start to feel the effects of the medication within a couple of days. Just like the vaccine, Jordan Valley Community Health Center offers the Regenoron Infusion Therapy at no cost. Patients do need a referral from their physician or they should get a referral through Jordan Valley Telehealth. Jordan Valley has the ability to treat up to 40 patients a week. The therapy is the first COVID-19 treatment granted emergency use authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for outpatient use.
