Next week marks the start of a bridge rehabilitation project in St. Robert

Next week marks the start of a bridge rehabilitation project in St. Robert, leading to the temporary closure of an exit ramp adjacent to the bridge. Work will begin on the overpass on Route Y in St. Robert this coming Monday. The project, which is expected to be completed by September, will close the ramp from eastbound I-44 to Route Y at Exit 161. St. Robert mayor George Lauritson says those coming in from Fort Leonard Wood or I-44 will need to find a temporary detour through another exit.

One lane in each direction is expected to remain open on the bridge throughout the project. Motorists are advised to pay attention to their surroundings as they approach the bridge from either direction. Delays are expected.
