Newburg 16-year-old injured in early morning accident

A Phelps County teenager received serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident just after midnight this morning on Highway T, 3 miles north of Flat. The highway patrol says the 16-year-old juvenile from Newburg received the injuries when the 2001 Honda Accord he was driving ran off the highway, struck a ditch and a tree before overturning and coming to rest on its top.
The juvenile was transported by Arch Air to Children’s Hosptial in St. Louis to receive treatment.
