New Jail construction on time in Pulaski County

Construction of the new multi-million dollar jail in Pulaski County could be wrapped up as early at next month or October. Planning and construction of the new jail began with a court order that addressed overcrowding and safety issues at the jail. The current jail is supposed to have 56 beds, but Sheriff Bench said they many times have brought in “boats” to try to accommodate more than a hundred. The new jail will have the capacity for 150 beds with room for expansion.
