According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of new Covid cases in Pulaski County is continuing its slow decline since earlier in the summer. For the seven-day period from August 23rd through the 29th, there were 118 new cases reported in contrast to 127 for August 16th through 22nd. Pulaski County is still considered to be a high transmission county. 28,337 individuals in the county have received their first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, which amounts to 53.9 percent of the population. 23,536 individuals have completed the two-dose vaccine regimen, which is 44.7 percent of the population. Statewide, there is an estimated 23.7 percent of the population who have come down with Covid and presumably have antibodies against the virus in their bloodstreams. There have been 15 deaths due to Covid in Pulaski County since July 1st.
