Navigating recreational marijuana rules

Lebanon City Council and staff are taking steps to navigate new rules and regulations related to recreational marijuana, and it was the main topic of discussion during the Thursday night City Council meeting. Among the discussion topics was placing a 3 percent sales tax on adult use marijuana sold, and what they might do with the revenue. The City will also have to determine zoning distances for retailers that sell recreational marijuana. Lebanon City Council will decide whether or not to put a 3 percent sales tax on the April ballot during the Monday meeting. In the future, Council will also decide on putting on a ballot issue in 2024 related to opting out of retail sales of marijuana in the city limits.
