National Weather Service posts a winter weather advisory for our area

A storm system will bring snow and freezing drizzle to the area at times Sunday into Monday. Better chances for accumulating precipitation will be located along and north of Highway 54…with little wintry accumulations expected south of Highway 60. Increased snow amounts along and north of Hwy 54 with little wintry accumulations expected south of Highway 60 . Wintry Mix of snow and freezing drizzle. Total snow accumulations of up to 3 with locally higher amounts to 4 possible and ice accumulations of a glaze up to a tenth of an inch. The Advisory is for locations along and north of a Pittsburg, KS to Salem, MO line from 6 AM Sunday to 6 PM Monday. There is the potential for freezing drizzle south of this line, and its possible the advisory could need to be expanded slightly further south if it becomes apparent that colder temperatures and freezing drizzle line up better.
