National Fly Fishing Competition coming to Bennett Spring

16 competitors from states as far away as Alaska will be at Bennett Spring State Park next week competing in the Project Healing Waters National Fly Fishing Competition. Amy Milne with Project Healing Waters tells us that fly fishing is good therapy for disabled veterans and disabled active military service personnel…..

More than 7-thousand individuals are part of the 200 program activities, and the fly fishing program has led to the National Casting Competition at Bennett Spring…

The competitors will arrive on Monday, with practice rounds on Tuesday August 29th, and the actual competition begins on Wednesday…

Volunteers from across the nation support the program giving hundreds of thousands of hours of their time to support the program, allowing the disabled veterans and military personnel to participate in program activities as no cost to the participant. In all, Milne said they will be at Bennett Spring State Park for a week, and she offered thanks to Jim Rogers and Ben Havens and staff at Bennett Spring State Park along with the City of Lebanon for the support of the National Competition.
