(Washington, D. C.)–Missouri 4th District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, Ranking Member of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, issued the following statement after the House Armed Services Committee passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021:

“In order for America to project its dominance in the international system and safeguard the security of all Americans, we must keep modernizing our forces. The need to recapitalize and modernize exists across all the services and in all military domains. From nuclear to conventional, and from land to sea, we are relying on legacy platforms and weapons that must be updated to meet current and future threats. I’m proud this NDAA does just that,” Hartzler said.

“This bipartisan bill is a win for Missouri and a win for our country. Not only does this legislation bolster important national defense programs and help America keep our competitive advantage over our adversaries it also provides critical funding for Missouri’s military installations and defense programs,” Hartzler added.

Congresswoman Hartzler had significant initiatives included in the committee passed bill including:

$40 million for the Fort Leonard Wood hospital replacement project;
