Today(fri) was the official unveiling of the NARCAN Vending Machine which is located in the Lebanon Police Department at 401 South Jefferson. According to Central Ozarks Medical Centers, the vending machine gives residents zero-barrier access to a medication that could save a life. COMC has partnered with the City of Lebanon and Lane Change to make the vending machine available at no cost. Lauren Mitchell with Lane Change said they were approached by COMC who has purchased the vending machines through a grant.

Mitchell said that NARCAN can’t be abused….

Mitchell said it’s important to remember that anyone can overdose from opioid medication, and if you have prescription opioid medication in your home you should have Narcan on hand just in case. The vending machine, which is located in the lobby of the Lebanon Police Department, will dispense a Narcan kit that contains two-single doses and instructions for use. The machine is programmed to provide the Narcan kit free of cost and no personal information is required.
