Murder Charge Filed Friday Against Miller County Man

Charges were filed on Friday against a Miller County man in connection with a September 5th homicide and assault incident in Rocky Mount. 57-year-old Terry E. Ewens of Eldon has been charged with first degree murder, first degree domestic assault, first degree burglary, two counts of first degree kidnapping and unlawful use of a weapon.
The charges stem from Ewens alleged involvement in a homicide and hostage situation that occurred at 18 Emery Road last Saturday. During the incident a 71-year-old female was killed and a 51-year-old female and an 83-year-old male were injured. According to the Miller County Sheriff’s Department, officers made entry into the home as the suspect was actively assaulting the elderly male.
Ewens is being held in the Miller County Jail in Tuscumbia in lieu of 500-thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
