Interstate 44 westbound at the 145-mile-marker near the Pulaski County and Laclede County line was completely shut down for several hours early Saturday morning according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The shutdown occurred following a minor accident when a car lost control on the interstate and ran into a bridge rail around 5:30 am, then was struck by a couple of tractor-trailers and other vehicles during the pile-up. Only minor injuries were reported and all injured were treated at local hospitals.
