Mountain Grove Woman Dead In Thursday Afternoon Accident

A 77-year-old Mountain Grove woman was killed in a 3:20 Thursday afternoon accident on Highway W, three miles south of Vanzant. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a car driven by Brenda L. Blacketer ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, skidded across the center of the road, striking a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Kasara G. Frost also of Mountain Grove. Blacketer was pronounced deceased at 4:02 yesterday afternoon. Frost and a passenger in her vehicle, 22-year-old Emily J. Schneider of Vanzant suffered injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Schneider and Frost were wearing a safety device. Blacketer was not.
