More protests planned Tuesday at State Capital in Jeff City.

(Jefferson City)–All state office buildings in Cole County closed early on Monday in response to an evening protest at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City. The protests throughout the state and nation have been fueled by last week’s police brutality death of George Floyd in Minnesota.
During Monday’s press conference, Governor Parson said he has activated the National Guard to help law enforcement during the protests statewide.

Protests in Columbia and Springfield Sunday appeared peaceful but tensions were high in Kansas City and Ferguson Sunday night. Two Kansas City news vehicles were set on fire and a liquid firebomb was thrown at a police vehicle in Ferguson.
