An agreement that allows the City and MOCA to transfer funds to assist those who need help with utility bills has been approved. During the Lebanon City Council meeting, City Administrator Mike Schumacher asked for approval to transfer $50-thousand-dollars from city utility funds. The $50-thousand minus a 5 percent administrative fee charged by MOCA, is supposed to help Lebanon residents who are finding themselves behind on utility payments because they have been laid off and don’t receive unemployment.

According to the city, the funds are limited to residential utility customers of the City of Lebanon and income guidelines have been removed. The majority of the $50-thousand will come from Electric Reserves, but $6-thousand will come from the sewer fund and $35-hundred will come from the water fund.
