MoDOT using new tech to make their winter road work more effective

The Missouri Transportation Department is using a GPS tracking system to help it battle the winter weather. MoDOT’s Paul Denkler says the agency is testing an extra feature that makes its operations more efficient.

Denkler says the system also gives MoDOT early alerts when trucks are having engine problems and other maintenance issues. The department uses the technology on about 1200 trucks in the southwest, central and St. Louis districts.
